# NaijaTaste security and data handling overview

> What NaijaTaste collects, what we never collect or sell, the controls you have over your taste profile, how we store data, and our NDPR compliance commitments.

NaijaTaste is a food intelligence platform, not a data broker. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, and what controls you have.

## What we collect

| **Location data**       | Only when you grant GPS access         | Proximity-based restaurant search        |

## What we do not collect

* Payment information (no payments on the platform)
* Contacts or call logs
* Device identifiers beyond session management
* Any data from other apps on your device

## What we do not sell

Your taste profile, your search history, and your review history are not sold to third parties. They are not used for advertising. They are used only to improve the recommendations and reviews the platform generates for you.

## Your controls

## Data storage

Restaurant data is fetched from Google Places and cached server-side. Cache entries expire automatically. We do not store raw Google Places API responses beyond the cache window.

User profile data (persona, review history) is stored on our servers and linked to your account. Deleting your account removes this data.

## NDPR

NaijaTaste operates in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). If you have a data request — access, correction, or deletion — contact us through the platform.
